Qigong literally means "the skill of moving energy". Practioners of qigong experience their body's energy in a way that they can heal the areas where their energy is blocked. The beauty of qigong lies in the fact that it does not require any special equipment and the movements are gentle so that even patients with severe physical limitations can practice this meditative exercise. Although the movements appear very simple, a 30 minute qigong session can leave one feeling calm but highly energized. A regular qigong practice will not only have health benefits but will also bring about positive change in many other areas of one's life.
Qigong for the most part is a simple practice but it can take a lifetime to master. It does not require any specific belief system nor does it embrace any religious ideology. It is however one of the most powerful systems of healing you can do for yourself.

Research has shown that 20 to 30 minutes of meditation 3 to 4 times a week can greatly enhance a persons health and wellbeing. For those challenged with illness it can be a bridge to healing all aspects of their health.
One of the principle benefits of meditation is that it helps to release stress from both the mind and the body by emptying the mind and focussing on the breath.
Take 10 minutes when you know you will not be disturbed. Sit in a comfortable chair that fully supports your body. Place your palms on your abdomen, just below the navel. Close your eyes and follow each breath. Begin breathing deeply so that each breath fills your palms and each exhalation releases stress out of your body. Breathe through your nose during this exercise. At the end of 10 minutes you will feel renewed and refreshed.
